The instrument is designed and made as per the requirements about penetrometer and its accessories stipulated in the National StandarB/T 4985 “Test Methods for Needle Penetration of Wax”. 1. The needle penetration of wax is expressed as the depth that a standard needle of 100 g vertically penetrates into a wax sample without any measurable friction in 5 s at 25 &8451;.
2. The test temperature for wax penetration is 25 &8451; in general.
3. Each wax penetration is 0.1 mm. It is directly shown on display. Technical parameters
1. Timing selection: 5, 8, 10, 12, 30 or 60 s;
2. Timing error: less than ±0.1 s;
3. Penetration accuracy: ±0.1 penetration;
4. Maximum penetration: 600 penetrations;
5. Standard needle: 2.5±0.05 g;
6. Constant temperature bath: made of harden glass;
7. Mold: 25×32×3mm, a brass cylinder;
